Frequently Asked Questions

Is Military Caregivers of America, LLC an agency?

Yes.  We are a nursing referral service agency that prides itself on providing first-class, customized in-home care options to help our patients and their caregivers experience a better quality of life.  We provide assistance to clients who wish to live at home independently.  Each caregiver we contract with must pass a rigorous credentialing process that includes references, a thorough background check, and license verification. We assign caregivers with extensive nursing backgrounds to provide respite care to disabled veterans, their caregivers, and their families.

Do you only provide service to veterans?

No, we also work with non-military clients in need of assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), companion care, and hospice as well.

What is respite care?

The purpose of respite care is to allow time off for the regular caregiver, whether it’s for a few hours or a few days.  Military Caregivers of America, LLC addresses the needs of the caregiver and their loved one by offering relief in the form of respite care. We work with the caregivers and their loved one to create a short- or long-term respite care plan which includes a detailed description of the level of nursing care required. We provide peace of mind that the caregiver's loved one is being properly taken care of in their absence.  Military Caregivers of America, LLC is the support system for these underserved hidden heroes.

Do you only offer respite care services?

No, we also offer short-term, long-term care, and live-in services which assist a client with their ADL. These services include bathing, dressing, meal preparation and light housekeeping.  We also provide hospice care.

How much does caregiver services cost?

Rates are based on our caregiver’s experience and the services requested.  Our clients are scheduled for a minimum of 12 hours of service per week.  In order to offer the best possible individualized service plan, the potential clients meet with a service coordinator for an in-home evaluation.  During the in-home evaluation, the service coordinator will provide the client with a copy of our service agreement and advise of pricing for services.

I would like to use my Long Term Care Insurance to pay for care, what should I do?

If you have a Long Term Care Insurance Policy, the first step is to speak with your insurance company and verify your coverage. You will need to find out if you have a deductible, what the criteria is to meet it and what your daily benefit is. Next you need to know the limitations for utilizing your policy to pay for your care. Many policies only cover if there are at least 2 deficits in your Activities of Daily Living, some require that a nurse from their company perform an assessment prior to the start of care. Whatever the requirement, Military Caregivers of America, LLC will assist you in any way possible to access your Long Term Care Benefits.

What do I do if I need to replace a caregiver or our needs change?

A service coordinator contacts our client and the assigned caregiver during the first week on the assignment assuring that there is open communication between our client and independent caregiver and assisting with any troubleshooting or problem solving that may be needed.  After that, a service coordinator contacts our client on a monthly basis or as frequently as deemed necessary to evaluate the quality of care and reevaluate the service plan.  If your needs change or you would like to review additional care options, just reach out to one of our service coordinators for assistance.
